Nordqvist’s remarkable career includes playing a pivotal role in Europe’s recent successes. As a playing vice-captain, she contributed significantly to Europe’s retention of the Solheim Cup in 2023, after a tie in Spain. In 2024, she was part of the team when the United States claimed the trophy for the first time in seven years, with a 15½-12½ victory in Virginia. Despite the loss, Nordqvist’s leadership and contributions were undeniable, reinforcing her suitability for the captaincy.
